A group (e.g. a descent group), which does or owns something together. One can be a member of many descent groups, but many of these have little practical significance in daily life, since they seldom do anything together as a group. But if a descent group e.g. lives on the same plot of land and subsists on agriculture there, they have property in common, they constitute a daily work group and have many interests in common: Therefore they are a typical (kinship-based) corporation. (See descent, lineage, descent group, kinship.)
