Goody, Jack (John Rankine) (b. 1919) |
British anthropologist, who cooperated with structural functionalist colleagues, but whose own work centered increasingly on historical and semi-evolutionist issues, such as the evolution of the household and family, and (in his perhaps most famous work) on the impact of literacy on non-literate societies.
