Archetti, Eduardo P. (1943-2005) |
Argentinian-Norwegian anthropologist, educated in France. Taught at the University of Oslo, Norway since the late 1970's. Latin American fieldwork. Contributions within neo-Marxian anthropology, peasant studies, and developmental anthropology, and later, studies of dance and football in Argentina. An inspiring teacher for an entire generation of Norwegian anthropologists, he was instrumental in bringing modern French anthropology to the attention of the Norwegian public at an early stage, in moving a large number of Norwegian students to do fieldwork in Latin America, and in formulating a kindly, but critical perspective on Norway for prospective Norwegian anthropologists.
